What does yours look like?
When my ex canceled this weekend, something that happens a good bit, I realized that it is ironic that I feel so free in my life.......because my kids are with me 90 percent or more of the time......and that is a gift, not a burden......I want to be where they are as much as I can be:) But from a certain vantage point that wouldn't speak of freedom.....in fact it would be interpreted as a lack of freedom........but our "cages" so to speak are a result of our own interpretation........and I think my freedom, or the feeling of it is tied to living on my terms some, but also peace........having a lack of peace for me equates to not being free.......and I have that now so fully......and recently......... in my last relationship I almost gave it away again......stepping into another's storm that began affecting my life.....and I drew the line this time.....no way.....there was no possible way I could walk through all I did to give it up again in the name of love.......no way......and have you ever walked away from somebody you loved??? Deeply??? It is not for the faint of heart.......it was so difficult, but I did it.......because my peace was bigger than even that.......and in the end as I have said, it was proven to me that my instincts and suspicions were right.......our relationship no longer compatible with that peace or each other's journeys......and it took me a minute......a minute to weigh love and peace......but love without peace is not something I want, not ever again in this life.........so yea I am a pretty full time single mom that feels FREE.......go figure.......yesterday I surrendered to deep relaxation with my girl......we watched two movies, and cozied in.......while my boy lived his best life at his church retreat......we are going to pick him up today at church, and go to church, and then I am hitting some errands, but more quiet time here........needing it after so much movement the last few months........I have loved the last two months so much amid the logistics of a new school year, and all of the adventuring we squeezed in amid the rest......it feels really nourishing as winter begins to creep into the back door and become the longest stretch of the year.......cozy season bothers me none......I am ready to root in and renew.......so today I ask YOU........what does a cage look like to you???? Your lack of freedom???? The place that you feel constricted?? Not like you??? And how can you break free?? So much of the things we seek are inside jobs......not given to us by our people.....but through our own care of our selves........You might just be surprised:) Happy Sunday! xoxo
