I have decided to get even more intentional about adventuring this summer with my kids.....we have been taking some really cool trips, and having fun adventures the last few years often, and this summer I want to turn it up some;-) I had hoped Grand Canyon would be a part of that, but I think my sights are on that for next year, maybe spring break time, when it isn't quite so hot yet......I will get there with my kids, I know that, and now with my west trip in play for my friend's birthday it seems like the best idea, and with the cost of everything, yikes....but I am starting to craft what the rest of the summer will look like.....and Nashville is on my bucket list, we would drive....and I almost made it there under different circumstances, but it was not in the cards.....so it is calling again.....and I looked into it again, and it is very doable, and I think my kids would love it....we are going to the beach in September, OBX.......so I felt like doing something different this summer would be cool, I am also looking into ones centered around some beautiful hiking.....I am taking them to the Grand Canyon of PA too this summer, I haven't been there since I was in college....there is also a treehouse restaurant in upstate NY that has a cool hiking trail that is lighted at night....so that is on my list......Tupper Lake is also on my list, somebody said the animal park is amazing, and they have some cool structures along their hiking trail.....they have glamping in igloos now in Promised Land that I want to check out.......and Point Pleasant beach has free movie nights on the beach! So we normally head there for at least a day, and a picnic on the beach, so I am going to make sure we catch a movie.......most of the stuff I plan for us isn't elaborate or expensive, but true EXPERIENCES......ones that stick:) The ice castle we did in New Hampshire was so cool that we did a few years ago......so this summer I plan on making a goal to adventure often amid the rest:) soaking up the summer fully.....and the freedom and gift it is to our lives......I am reminded often that THIS time with my kids, at the stages they are in, is finite......and one day they will be doing other things, their own things...... and I think that will be true for my son too despite his special needs:) And so........THESE are the days.....love that song too by the way;-) And that has been another blessing in my new life.....we have done SO much in the last 5 years......and the inclination to do so came from wanting to LIVE, like really LIVE beyond all that happened.....and so I got to it....and my kids and I have had so much fun doing so many amazing things.....and it is easy to say I will do that one day, I have been there too.....but NOW is the time:) I also think Knoebels and the Crayola Factory is on our list too.....alongside our normal local trails...
I also personally have the Mammoth March in my sites, it is a 20 mile hike in 8 hours......I am trying to rope somebody else in lol, surprisingly not a lot of takers lol:) There are many around but I am trying to decide where I want to do it.....and I need to just sign up and commit and go for it! That will feel like an amazing accomplishment! So YES as the school year is winding down, it is time to look toward adventuring and some freedom! And I think Nashville just might be a part of that adventure! The three of us live and breathe music.....and there are family friendly ways to experience it there, so I am EXCITED to craft a plan:) Have a great day:) xoxo
