Stranded.......

Yesterday I set out to come home......and I suppose in hindsight titling it homeward bound was apropos as this morning doesn't find me home....but bound for home........I flew from Jackson Hole to Chicago, and then the day took hold. I was in O'Hare Airport.......The NY flights began getting canceled and delayed one by one due to circumstance, and the crazy storms at home.....However mine got delayed first from 1-3 then from 3-6, then 6-........you get the idea till it was finally canceled. But before they did when it was delayed one final time till 10pm, I made the decision to rebook and make a plan at 6 at night instead of 10 at night when they canceled it.......and it was nerve wracking some, I am in a big city alone. Trying to problem solve potentially sleeping in the airport, or getting a room, and trying to get another flight. My first order of business in my mind was to get my suitcase off the plane, so I went to baggage and beat the big rush to get there.......they told me it might take 2-3 hours to get it, it took 20 minutes.....which I was deeply grateful for as I sat there with all the tired passengers......waiting at the baggage carousel, and then I went to set about solving my lodging and my way home....feeling at one point like I might rent a car and drive home. And O'Hare is an ENORMOUS airport, think they announced the biggest in the world, so it was a bit overwhelming. Ironically flying out of Jackson being one of the smallest in the morning lol But as I centered myself to problem solve, I remembered that one of my great friends growing up, one I keep in touch with from time to time lives near Chicago! So I texted her.....it took a little bit to hear from her, and just as I almost booked a hotel room she texted that she was so excited and coming to get me!!! As I waited for her I was able to rebook a flight for tomorrow. Many of them on standby today as they get everybody else home......also I am guessing the airport and all of it will be crazy today in NY as it shakes out, so giving it a day to settle feels perfect...so today I see Chicago some lol, quite different than Wyoming, but I am sure it will be amazing!! And here is the thing.....last night I made the decision. To not panic, just trust, that the pieces were coming together. Being quiet and centered enough to hear that......and then they did. I went from thinking I would need to pay all sorts of money to make it happen. And none of it cost me a thing......I also had the deep support of my car service guy Erick, he is coming to get me tomorrow too, after he waited for me yesterday at LaGuardia!!! He ended up visiting a friend, he used to live there, and was so cool about it. He said I can't pay him till he gets me home lol, that is rare indeed. So I am anxious to get home, no question, and dying to see my kids.......but more than that I am so deeply grateful for God being in every detail of my life, every day, and making the way appear no matter the challenge......I had a moment where I felt sorry for me, being alone to solve it all, but it was fleeting.......the bigger part saw the divine nature of events and was beyond grateful......so I am leaning into patience, and faith, and gratitude .......the anchors of my existence. Loving that I am connecting with my friend Tara, we spent many years with one another, she lived with me at one time so long ago, and she has always been a great friend, and sending out the SOS call seemed so fitting. She also works from home today! And has tomorrow off, by accident, I think not 😉 So I fly HOME tomorrow, I am calling it lol And by dinner tomorrow, my arms will be wrapped round my family! AMEN!!!🙏🏻💫❤️
